Conventions of a Psychological movie trailer

With every genre there are convention, so here are some conventions of my genre (psychological horror). Conventions also known as tropes are trends and similarities that are found in within the same genre.

• Dark
• House
• Flash and fade transition
• Screaming
• Door slamming
• Eerie music
• Dialogue used as voice over
• Close ups
• Title of the film and release date at the end
• Doesn't show the supernatural being in great detail if shown it is not in great focus and is for a very short period of time.
• Starts of with long clips and these clips get shorter throughout. building up suspense.

The most famous psychological horror films are Rosemary's baby and the shining. There movies built up suspense throughout the movie and at the end a there is a climax.
